One of the most obvious challenges for youth leaving foster care or juvenile systems is finding housing when they have no family or home to go to. Homeless youth are already deeply immersed in the problem. And when disadvantaged youth have no access to safe and secure housing, they are exposed to the dangers of the streets and can get trapped in the vicious cycle of poverty.
Greater Expectations Advocacy seeks to change this by providing program participants with transitional housing for 6 to 12 months. Here, they can focus on participating in skills training and receiving counseling and mentoring. With the organization’s assistance, they can look forward to starting their lives fresh.
